Early start to the day – on the road to San Marcos,
Texas. Filled up with ‘regular’
(unleaded) $US 3.359 a gallon - not bad, eh? Better price than in Australia...
Faced a four hour drive to San Marcos, Texas. Fairly uneventful, traffic was great on the interstate highway - mainly 70mph along the way. Had a quick lunch and shop.
Continued on for another hour to San Antonio. It is the Mexican Fiesta for the next two weeks or so - and the town is in party mode! We're staying in a hotel on the 'Riverwalk' - it's so beautiful! There is a narrow river flowing through the town, with a cement/rock walkway running along both sides. Ducks and birds live along the river. It's aligned with many restaurants and shops. We found the 'Iron Cactus' restaurant, a chain where we'd eaten before at their Dallas location. Great margaritas and fajitas!!! Will do plenty more exploring tomorrow when we have more time and daylight!
PS For those of you who were present at our wedding, today marks our 15th Anniversary.... hasn't time flown?
